How Timely prevents duplicate appointments
When you add an appointment from the calendar, or when an appointment is booked online by a customer, Timely will carry out some checks on the new appointment to ensure a duplicate customer is not created.
Here's how it works:
1. First Timely will find any existing customers where:
The first and last name of the new appointment match an existing customer
If only company name entered on the new appointment, find any existing appointments that match the company name
2. Then one additional match is required:
- Telephone number
- Mobile number
- Email address
This process is carried out wherever a new customer is added to Timely - e.g. from the calendar, online bookings, importing from CSV or another program, adding a customer from the customers tab, etc.
