How to issue customer credit

There are two ways customer credit can be issued on Timely, each depending on how the customer would like to purchase it. 

Note: Customer credit is not active until the sale has been completed in Timely. Customer credit can not be issued without receiving a payment.

  1. Issue credit from the calendar.
  2. Issue credit from the customer's tab.
  3. Issue credit from the sidebar.

Can’t see Customer credit in your account? Customer credit allows you to store a balance or credit on a customer's account, which you can then use towards their invoices. Customer credit is available on our Schedule and Sell plan.

Issue credit from the calendar

  1. You can quickly issue credit from the calendar by clicking the green tag icon in the top left corner.
  2.  Select Credit from the options:

  3. Fill out the details then click .
  4. This will create a new invoice for you to process the credit.
  5. Select the staff member who is making the sale:

  6. Click Save to raise the invoice. You will need to apply a payment to issue the credit.
  7. Apply the payment like you would any other invoice and click Save again:
  8. When you have applied a payment, the credit will be activated and ready to use. 
  9. To view a customer's credit balance and history, head to Customers find the customer and click the Credit tab.

Issue credit to a customer

You can also  issue credit it to a customer from their profile. 

  1. Head to Customers.
  2. Find the customer who you would like to issue credit for and select the Credit tab. 
  3. Select Issue credit.

  4. Follow steps 2 - 6 in the section above to raise the sale and activate the credit.

Issue credit from the sidebar

You can also issue credit it to a customer from their profile. 

  1. Bring up a customer using the sidebar.
  2. Click the green tag icon to raise a sale.
  3. Choose Credit from the options:
