IMPORTANT:
Shopify integration with Timely was originally removed for all new customers from July 5th 2024.
From the 1st of April 2025 the integration between Timely and Shopify will be discontinued. This means that all current customers using this will no longer have any data syncing between the two.
Overview:
From 1 April 2025 the Shopify integration will be discontinued. This means that all customers will no longer have any data syncing between Timely and Shopify.
Why the change?
Shopify has introduced new requirements for app store listings that would require significant investment and divert us from our planned roadmap. Due to this, we can no longer maintain the connection and it’s causing significant issues keeping this connection running. To focus on initiatives that benefit all our customers, we’ve made the tough decision to discontinue the integration.
What does this mean?
- Customer records in Timely will no longer be updated by client sales in Shopify
- Sales in Shopify will no longer generate invoices in Timely
- Product syncing between Timely and Shopify will stop
- Stock level updates between Timely and Shopify will cease
What you can do next:
If you decide to stop using the Shopify integration before 1 April, you can:
- Navigate to: Setup > Add-Ons > scroll to ‘Shopify’ > Configure
- Toggle off: switch the integration toggle to ‘Off’.
- Confirmation: a prompt will inform you that this action is permanent and can’t be reversed. Confirm to disable the integration.
If no action is taken, the Shopify integration will automatically disconnect on 1 April 2025.
After the integration has been turned off:
- If you use Timely to sync invoices from Shopify to your accounting software (Xero, Quickbooks, MYOB), ensure these invoices are imported directly from Shopify
- New products will need to be added in both Timely and Shopify
- Use the Stock Movement Report or Product Sales Report in Timely to track sales and then manually update your stock levels in Shopify
- Use Shopify’s inventory reports to track online sales and manually adjust stock levels in Timely. You could use the Timely Stock app or or by going to Setup > Products in your account
