This article will take you through how to set up a split shift alongside a busy time for your staff members.
Step by step instructions
Rostering your staff at multiple locations: You can only view one location at a time. When switching between locations, staff members or months, the changes are not automatically saved.
If your staff work split shifts or have extended breaks during the day, the best way to manage this is to roster their start time for the beginning of their first shift until the end of their second or last shift. Then, in the period during the day when they're not working, you can add busy time to let the system know they are not available.
Let's work through an example - Sandy works two shifts in a day. The first is 9am to 12pm and the second is 5pm to 8pm. She is not working from 12pm to 5pm. Let's set Sandy up correctly in the roster.
1 Using the example above, go to Setup, click on 'Roster'

2 Set the time from 8am to 9pm (being the start of the first shift and the end of the last shift)

3 Click on 'Calendar'

4 Click on 'Add busy time' in the Calendar
5 In the first field, click of the duration of the busy time you want to block out and in the from field, the start time of that busy period

6 If this is a regular shift, you can make the busy time repeat by clicking on the 'Recurrence' tab
