How to apply discounts via the Timely iOS app

Discounts are a great way to entice new clients to book in with your business, while also encouraging repeat bookings from existing clients who know and love your work. These will be salon-facing only, and won't be directly visible to your clients until you share them via your marketing campaigns. 

In this article you will learn how to apply discounts via the Timely iOS app. Before you can get started applying discounts, make sure you have completed the steps in our help guide How to set up discounts.

 

Timely note: for the best experience, please make sure you are using the latest iOS version, and have updated the Timely iOS app.

 

 

How to apply a discount to the entire sale in the iOS app

If you have multiple items included on an invoice, you can easily apply a discount to the entire sale at once:

 

1 Once you've added a product or appointment to the sale, click the three dots, and then add discount to proceed.

 

2 Next select the discount from the options listed, and the discount will be applied as a negative in red and the new sale balance will be shown. When you are ready, click pay to take the payment.

 

 

How to apply a discount to a single item in the iOS app

If you'd like to only discount an individual item on an invoice, you can do so:

 

1 Click on the item in the right panel, this will pop up an edit item window.

 

2 Then click none next to the discount option.

 

3 Select a discount by tapping on one of the available discounts. The full price will be crossed out and the discounted price will be shown underneath.

 

Timely note: in order for a discount to be applied the discount needs to match the tax of the service, product or gift voucher of which it is being applied to.
