With Timely, clients can use Afterpay to pay for any in store purchases (retail products, gift vouchers, appointments and packages).
Afterpay Card is now out in Australia and New Zealand, this will replace the barcode system fully in March (AUS) and May (NZ) 2021 for all new customers and July 2021 for existing Afterpay customers.

How to take payments using the barcode system
Afterpay is a payment service that allows clients to pay for retail products, gift vouchers, services and packages, both online and in store. The business immediately receives the payment in full, while the client pays off their balance over four fortnightly instalments.

Afterpay is currently only supported in Australia and New Zealand.
Important information: Adding an Afterpay payment to an invoice locks the invoice for editing, so no further payments can be added.
How to take payments using the Afterpay barcode system
To process a payment via Afterpay:
- Raise a sale as you would normally: How to raise a sale.
- When you get to the payment screen, you will see Afterpay as an option:
- Select Afterpay from the options:
- Scan or enter the client's barcode (from their iOS App or Android App):
- Adjust the location and staff member assigned to the payment (if desired).
- Click Save to apply the payment:
- The payment amount and type will be displayed on the final invoice:
How to take payments using the new Afterpay Card
Afterpay Card is a contactless Mastercard (Australia) and Visa (New Zealand) stored in the customer's Apple or GooglePay wallet. Your client will complete a one-time card set-up flow via the Afterpay app to create their virtual Afterpay Card
For each purchase, the customer will open their Afterpay app to access their card, they can check their available Afterpay amount and then tap their phone on the card payment terminal to make their contactless payment purchase. As a merchant, you will process the transaction as a Mastercard (Australia) and Visa (New Zealand) prepaid card transaction.
To make sure they show as Afterpay sales within Timely to differentiate between Afterpay and your other payment types you will need to add a custom payment type called Afterpay before processing any payments
You will complete your checkout process as normal adding all your items to the sale. You will then checkout:
You will then open your card terminal app and process the payment as normal using the card machine. In Timely you will choose the Afterpay payment type:

If you are using the Timely iOs app to complete your checkout process continues as normal making sure to add all your items to the sale. You will then checkout:
You will then open your card merchant app, enter the payment amount you wish to take and process the payment as normal with your card machine:
In Timely you will choose your new Afterpay payment type to complete the sale:
Just like any other payment a client can pay for their services or products with multiple payment types that include Afterpay for a single sale.
Refunds can be processed directly in your Afterpay portal and the corresponding invoice then needs to be deleted in Timely.
