In this article, you will learn how to add your GST or VAT registration number to Timely, alongside answers to frequently asked questions regarding GST and VAT numbers. If you are a Timely customer in Singapore or South Africa, we need your indirect tax ID to support us in remaining compliant with local tax laws in your region. In Singapore, this is your GST number and in South Africa, this is your VAT.
Timely notes:
- We did not collect this for some customers upon signing up to Timely, so we are updating our records retroactively.
- If your business is registered for GST or VAT, you’ll see a prompt to enter your number the next time you log in to Timely on desktop. This will not change your current pricing, but not providing your tax ID could result in incorrect tax charges or billing issues later on.
How to update your Tax ID in Timely

Log in to Timely on desktop. You will see a pop-up asking you to add your business tax ID, click enter GST/VAT number.

On the billing screen click add tax ID. Enter your Timely account email address and GST (Singapore) or VAT (South Africa) number in the Tax ID field.

When you are ready, click save to apply your changes.

If you don’t add your GST or VAT number, we may have to treat your account as non-registered - even if you are registered. That could mean the wrong tax gets applied, or we have to adjust your billing setup.
