With Timely, when you are managing bookings and planning for the day ahead, you are able to access important information (such as client records and upcoming appointments) right from your calendar sidebar. This makes administrative tasks effortless. In this guide, you will learn how to use the calendar sidebar.
How to view a client's record from the calendar sidebar
The sidebar allows you to view your client's information without leaving the calendar. To open the sidebar, just click on your client's name in the appointment window from the calendar. Otherwise, you can toggle the sidebar open using the [>] button in the top left corner and use the search field to find your client.
Once your client is selected, you will be able to:
- Edit their record, including their contact details and notification preferences
- Merge the client with another record
- Send an SMS or email to contact the client
- Delete their record entirely
- Create a new appointment for that client
- Raise an invoice to sell a product or service, issue a package, or sell a gift voucher
- Show the client's next appointment in the calendar, via the show button
- View the details of their last appointment
- Access their notes, and print these if required
- View any previous invoices, you can also apply payments or request a payments too!
How to view your upcoming schedule via the calendar side bar

When you do not have a client selected in the sidebar, you can view a summary of your appointments for the day. To do this, click the [] button, or click the spacebar, to toggle the sidebar to open.
