How to navigate tiered pricing for service groups – Timely

Tiered pricing for new or existing service groups

When you set up tiered pricing for a service it will automatically be applied to any service groups that contain that service. The price at the checkout will vary depending on the tier of the team member who performs the service. How to override tiered pricing in service groups

You have the option of overriding the tiered prices in a service group with a fixed price. This means that a fixed price will be applied for that particular service within the service group no matter who performing the service.

Step-by-step instructions

1 Head to setup from the main menu in your Timely account dashboard.

2 Click services from the dropdown menu and select edit next to the service group you would like to update.

3 Slide the override price toggle next to the service that you would like to have a fixed price.

4 Enter a new fixed price to be charged for the service. When you are ready, click save to apply your changes.

Service group pricing when booking online

When your clients visit your online booking page and select a service group to book as the first step, the range of total price of the service group will be shown to them. When they continue to the next step and select the staff, the price will change to a fixed total price based on the price defined for each service in the service group for the staff selected.

If the client choose to go with no preference as the staff option, the price will remain as a range and get fixed at the next step of the booking when they select an appointment time. An available staff will get assigned at this stage and the price will get fixed accordingly.

Service groups with tiered pricing in web app calendar

When you select a service group to be included in an appointment, the service list will be displayed with options to select the staff to perform each service. When you select a staff for each service, the price set for that particular stylist will be applied and the total price will get updated accordingly.

For services within a service group with an override price, the price will stay the same when you change the stylist for the service. However you still have the option to set totally different custom price instead of the tiered price or override price for each service when you add or edit an appointment.

Service groups with tiered pricing in the Timely iOS app

Tiered pricing for service groups is supported in the Timely iOS app calendar and checkout. This will enable you to add/edit appointments with service groups which will reflect the pricing tiers for services with tiered pricing. You will also be able to checkout appointments with service groups containing tiered pricing services and the correct price will get charged from the customer.
