Now you can apply pricing tiers for services in new and existing service groups.
Setting up tiered pricing for a new or existing service group
Activating and setting up tiered pricing for your business is quite straightforward. Follow the steps described in the tiered pricing set up guide if you haven't activated tiered pricing so far. If you have already activated tiered pricing for services and don't yet have it auto applied to your service groups, simply visit setup > services and click on the activate now button on the banner displayed on top of the page as shown below.
Once you successfully activate tiered pricing for your business and apply pricing tiers to your services, your service groups will automatically get applied with the price ranges for staff who are performing services within those service groups. In order to view or make any changes to the price ranges that get set automatically to the service groups, visit setup > services and select the service group you wish to view or amend and click the edit button. The screen below is an example of a service group with tiered prices auto applied using the pricing tiers for different services.
You have the option of overriding the tiered prices with a fixed price as shown in below example. This will result a fixed price getting applied for that particular service within the service group irrespective of the staff performing the service. In the example below, for cleansing facial service an override price of $65 is applied instead of the tiered price by toggling the override price on and typing in the fixed price.
Be sure to save the new service groups you create or the changes you make to existing service groups by pressing the save button on the top or bottom of the page.
How a service group with tiered pricing works when booking an appointment online
When your clients visit your online booking page and select a service group to book as the first step, the range of total price of the service group will be shown to them. The below screen shot shows the price ranges when both services are set to have tiered pricing in the example in the section above.
When they continue to the next step and select the staff, the price will change to a fixed total price based on the price defined for each service in the service group for the staff selected. The example below shows how the price will change to a fixed price once a senior stylist is selected.
If the client choose to go with 'no preference' as the staff option, the price will remain as a range and get fixed at the next step of the booking when they select an appointment time. An available staff will get assigned at this stage and the price will get fixed accordingly.
Adding or editing an appointment with a service group with tiered pricing
Tiered pricing can be applied when adding or editing appointments with service groups in the calendar using the web app and also the Timely iOS app.

When you select a service group to be included in an appointment, the service list will be displayed with options to select the staff to perform each service. When you select a staff for each service, the respective price set for that particular stylist will get applied and the total price will get calculated accordingly. See screenshot below for adding an appointment with a service group containing two services.
For services within a service group with an override price, the price will stay the same when you change the stylist for the service.
However you still have the option to set totally different custom price instead of the tiered price or override price for each service when you add or edit an appointment.
