Q: I have a Timely terminal. Can I take tips through it?
A: Yes, to set up tipping on your terminal, simply go into your TimelPay settings to enable tipping.
Q: What fees or charges are there to take tips through Tap to Pay on iPhone?
A: There are no extra fees or hidden charges for using Tap to Pay on iPhone, just the same standard rate as taking payments through a Timely terminal.

A: No! There is no charge or additional fees associated with taking tips through Tap to Pay on iPhone.
Q: If I process a refund for a transaction with a tip, is the tip refunded or do I keep it?
A: Yes, the tip will be refunded.
Q: My client paid a deposit and redeemed this on the invoice. Will the tip percentage be based on the total invoice value?
A: The tip will be calculated on the total service cost. Any deposits that have been pre-paid will be taken into account. For example, if your client paid a $25 deposit on a $125 service, the tip would be calculated based on the total service cost (e.g. $25 + $100). A 10% tip on a $125 total service cost would be $12.50.

A: Tap to Pay is on Android for customers in Australia, UK, and New Zealand. Tipping is currently not supported on Tap to Pay on Android.

A: At this stage, no. The tipping pre-sets will be reflected across all locations if you have more than one salon and across all staff if you have staff members.
Q: Is there a way to take tips with online payments?
A: At this stage, no. Tips can only be collected via Tap to Pay on iPhone in the checkout flow.
Q: Can I take surcharges on tips?
A: You are able to add surcharges onto the “service”, but there is no surcharge applied to the “tip” component.
