It's only recognised as revenue in your reports when a service is redeemed, giving you a true picture of your finances. In this guide, you will learn workarounds for selling packages online.
Selling Packages online is one area that many businesses use, to boost their revenue, keep their customers coming back and increasing their customer’s experience. We will teach you 2 ways that you can sell your packages online to your customers.
Getting started:
Make sure you have first created the packages in Timely that you wish to sell online. If you have yet to do this, see our help guide How to create a new package template before proceeding. You will also need: a Timely account, an online website/landing page, and an online payment method (such as PayPal, Stripe etc).
Important note: you can not use this workaround if you are using TimelyPay.
Workarounds for selling packages online
How to sell packages online using gift vouchers

Now that your packages are created in Timely you can start to setup gift vouchers. Follow the steps in our help guide How to set up gift vouchers to create a new fixed amount voucher.

When you have set up the gift voucher, you will then need to add the same details as the package, eg the same name and the amount. You don't need to worry about the expiry of the voucher so you can choose to set this to never if you prefer.

Once this is done you can then publish the link to sell these vouchers online to your website, add the link to your social media, Linktree etc.

When a client purchases a gift voucher package you will then need to redeem this against the package. To do this, go to the sales page, search for your client and select the package they have purchased a gift voucher for. Then you will click checkout.

Enter the voucher code that you need to redeem, and click use voucher.

Then on the next page click done. This has now exchanged the voucher that the client purchased for the package that they wanted and you can redeem each treatment from their package as normal when they attend their appointments.
How to sell packages online using your website & payment provider

Once you have everything set up in Timely, sign into your online payment provider. There, you will need to create a product/payment link for each package that you have created in Timely.

When you have created your payment links, it is time to sell them online. On your website/landing page, create a description of your package and use the product/payment link that you created in the steps above, and then a buy button on your website/landing page.

When your customer purchases your package online, your online payment provider will then send you an email congratulating you that a customer has purchased your package. This is where you jump into Timely.

From this email, obtain the details of your customer and sell them the package that they purchased (you do not need to take a secondary payment for this, as they will have already paid off platform). Once you have sold the package to your customer in Timely, you will be able to redeem the services of the package against the customer, when you check them out.
