How to give staff account access

In this article, you will learn how to give staff access to your account. Once a staff member has been given access to your account, you can control what areas of the account they have access to. This will ensure only the necessary people see sensitive information, keeping important information secure. Timely note: we recommend giving every staff member and administrator their own login or pin access, so you can control what they can see, and can be easily removed if/when they leave the business. How to manage staff access in Timely

To give a staff member access to Timely, head to account > staff access. The account holder has default access to this page, but you can also give this permission to your staff. On the staff access page, you will see a list of all your staff and administrators as below:
 

  • Their login email address
  • When they were last active in Timely
  • Where they have email access or PIN access
  • An edit access button
  • Three dots which give you the options to view the activity log or reset their password

 

 

How to give staff access in Timely

1 To give a staff member or administrator access to Timely for the first time, click the give access button.

 

2 Choose what type of login access you want to give the staff member/administrator. If you have PIN switching turned on, you will have the option to give them either pin access or email and pin access.

 

3 Once you have selected their login access, you will see further permissions available for you to set up for that staff member. Once you are finished setting up their detailed access, click save.

 

4 This will send an email to their address, which will contain instructions on how to set up a new password. If that email hasn't come through yet, make sure to check their spam or junk folder!

 

 

Timely note: 

  • We don’t recommend giving a staff member or administrator access to the account area unless absolutely necessary, as this includes billing information for your Timely account.
     

  • For privacy and security reasons, we strongly advise against sharing your account holder login details (email address and password) with other staff members.
     

  • An email address can only be used once in Timely, so if a staff member's email is added as an admin on the account already (or with another business using Timely) then you won't be able to give them access under that same address.
