Services are one of the most important parts of your Timely account setup. Having an organised service menu helps your clients have a seamless booking experience, and helps orient your staff. Once your services are set up, clients can book these online, or your staff can book them right there and then, in-salon!
If you have a variety of different services, then you can group these into categories. This helps your clients navigate online booking with ease. In this guide, you will learn how to create and assign categories to your services. For information on reordering your categories, see our help guide How to reorder your service groups and services.
How to create a new category

Head to setup from the main menu in your Timely account dashboard, and click services.

You will see a list of your categories down the left-hand side and your uncategorised services in the general section.

Click the add category button to create a new category, and then enter a name for the category in the field provided.

When you are ready, click save to create the new category.
How to assign a category to a service

To categorise an existing service, click the edit button next to the service. Or, when adding a new service, you will see a category field.

Use the category dropdown to select which category the service belongs in. Once you have done this, click save to update the service. This service will then be moved to the chosen category.
How to edit or delete a category
1 Select the category you would like to edit from the list, and next to the category name, click edit to adjust the name. Then click save to apply any changes.

To remove a category, click delete next to the category, then delete again to confirm the deletion. Deleting a category will move all the services in that category to the general or uncategorised services list.
