Introduction
Starting September 30, 2024, all existing UK long code mobile numbers will need to be approved by a UK regulatory authority to send messages.
To continue using your dedicated SMS number, you need to verify your business details due to these new compliance requirements.
Why is this important?
The UK is enforcing this new regulation to combat fraud and smishing, ensuring responsible use of SMS and voice services. These measures enhance security, reduce spam, and build consumer trust in telecommunications by verifying the legitimacy of businesses.
Verifying your business details is essential and only takes a few minutes if you have all your business information on hand.
If you don’t verify in time, this will result in your dedicated number being disabled and you won’t be able to use it for client communication. Instead, you'll be assigned a shared pool number, which will impact two-way messaging and client replies.
