You can still take online deposits even if the client isn't booking their appointment online. When taking the payment, send them an invoice from Timely. The invoice will have an online payment link. Then you can track the payment and see in your calendar when the deposit has been paid.
Step-by-step instructions
1 Click the time you want to make the appointment and select Add appointment.
2 Add the client's name.
3 Select the service.
4 In the bottom right-hand corner click Add Deposit.
5 Set the deposit amount.
6 Confirm the reason for the deposit.
7 Click on Save and Pay.
8 Click Request Payment.
9 Check the email address is right. You can edit or add a different address here.
10 Add a personal message to the email if you want.
11 Click Send.
12 Click Done.
You'll see the appointment is now scheduled. The deposit won't show on the appointment until the invoice is paid.
How to see if the deposit has been paid
1 To check whether the deposit has been paid or not. Open up the client sidebar.
2 Search for the client.
3 Scroll down to the appointment. You'll see the invoice is unpaid.
4 Once it's been paid it will look like this.
5 A Deposit paid icon will also show on the booking in your calendar.
Good to know
The deposit can only be redeemed for an appointment once it has been fully paid.
