Two-factor authentication (2FA) / multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an additional layer of security you can add to your Timely account to ensure both business and client information remains secure from compromise. This is an integral part of running a successful business. In this article, you will learn how to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your account. For more information, see our help guide How to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for staff members.
Timely notes:
- Please note, the 2FA feature is not available in Singapore.
- For the best experience, please make sure you are using the latest iOS version, and have updated the Timely iOS app.
- If you or your staff member are overseas and therefore not receiving the SMS 2FA code, you can still log in by using your recovery codes provided instead.

Timely note: for security reasons, your recovery email will need to be a different email address than the email linked to your Timely account. This should not be a staff member’s email address. You will need access to this email at all times.
