Two-factor authentication (2FA) / multi-factor authentication (MFA) is an additional layer of security you can add to your Timely account to ensure both business and client information remains secure from compromise. This is an integral part of running a successful business. In this article, you will learn how to view your Two-factor authentication (2FA) settings. For more information, see our help guide Introduction: Two-factor authentication (2FA).
Timely note: for the best experience, please make sure you are using the latest iOS version, and have updated the Timely iOS app. Please note, the 2FA feature is not available in Singapore.
How to view your two-factor authentication settings
What is the two-factor authentication grace period?
You will be able to see a summary of your staff's verification statuses. Staff members will have a two week grace period to complete their 2FA setup when they log into Timely. If the 2FA setup is not completed within this time frame in their next login session, the staff member will be required to set up their 2FA before they can access their timely account.
How to set a trusted two-factor authentication mobile number
To change a 2FA mobile number, staff with admin access will need to reset 2FA on the staff access page. The reset will automatically log them out of Timely. It is recommended they log back in immediately. You cannot edit this number anywhere else in Timely.
How to change your two-factor authentication recovery email
If the existing recovery email is no longer valid for your business, you can edit and replace the existing nominated recovery email with a new email. Please ensure the newly nominated email is not associated with your Timely account.
