Setting up your staff members' rosters is an important part of running an efficient business, it also helps both your staff and clients know when they will be in salon. If a staff member has availability preferences, or limitations; then you can update their schedule to reflect this. In this article, you will learn an introduction to staff rostering and an overview of what is possible.
Timely note: you can only view one location at a time. When switching between locations, staff members or months, the changes are not automatically saved.
Manage split shifts
If your staff work split shifts or have extended breaks during the day, the best way to manage this is to roster their start time for the beginning of their first shift until the end of their last shift. Then, in the period during the day when they're not working, you can add busy time to let the system know they are not available. For more information, see our help guides How to manage split shifts and How to block out busy time in your Timely calendar.
Manage fortnightly rostering
Some salon businesses offer a fortnightly roster for their staff members and while this is not currently available within Timely, we have a workaround to allow you to do this. You can find out more in our help guide How to manage fortnightly rostering (workaround).
Manage and adjust staff rostering
If a staff member is unavailable or has different working hours on a specific day, you can update their schedule. For more information on how to do this, see our help guide How to manage and adjust staff rostering.
