Creating services is one of the most important tasks to complete when setting up your Timely account. Having an organised service menu helps your clients have a seamless booking experience, and helps orient your staff. Once your services are set up, clients can book these online, or your staff can book them right there and then, in-salon! In this guide, you will learn how to make changes to your services.
Timely note: you can update your services at any time, which will apply to any new bookings. Any existing bookings will use the settings that were in place at the time.
How to make changes to a service

Head to setup from the main menu in your Timely account dashboard, and then click services from the dropdown list.

Click the edit button next to the service you need to change, and then update any relevant fields to reflect the new details:
- Service price
- Duration
- Add or remove padding or processing time
- Whether or not you'd like customers to be able to book this online
- Change the colour of the service
- Assign different staff or a different resource to the service

After you have made any changes, all you need to do is click save to apply. All future bookings will then be created using those updated details.
Timely notes:
- When you make a change to a service setting in Timely, these changes won't be reflected on any appointments that are already booked in to the calendar. This is to protect the integrity of the original appointment and prevent any unexpected surprises to your clients.
- You will need to update the existing appointments if you wish for them to have the new price. To do this, you can edit the appointment itself, and select another service drop the drop down. Lastly, re-select the original service again, which will then populate the booking with the updated details; once you hit save, all changes will be made.
- Make sure to communicate clearly with your clients if changes are, occurring so that you do not diminish trust built in your business.
