How to sell gift vouchers via the Timely iOS app

Gift vouchers are a great way for your clients to introduce your business to their family and friends. With Timely, gift vouchers can be bought online, sent by email, or printed out and given in person. You have control over the gift voucher process, from creation to redemption. So you can decide if they can be purchased online, voided, or if they expire. You can also determine gift voucher terms and conditions, allowing you to customise what information is included on the printed voucher. 
 

In this guide we'll show you how to sell gift vouchers in the Timely iOS app. To make sure you get the very best app experience, we recommend you have the latest version of the Timely app and iOS update installed on your phone or iPad. 

 

 

Timely note: you will need to have set up vouchers in your account already, which can only be done on the full desktop version of Timely. See our help guide How to set up gift vouchers for guidance on how to do this.

 

 

How to sell a gift voucher on the Timely iOS app

Once you have vouchers set up, you'll be able to issue these to the customer directly in the iOS app. If you are also wanting to process other items in the sale, such as appointments or retail products; you will need to issue the voucher to the customer first - before adding the rest of the items.

 

Step-by-step instructions

1 Head to the sales tab in the Timely iOS app.

 

2 Tap on the voucher tab in the left-hand panel and select a voucher from the list.

 

3 Add a to name, this will be shown on the customer's voucher. This will also create a customer record for this name too.

 

4 Select an existing customer, or create a new one, in the from field. The voucher will also be linked to their customer record.

 

5 Enter a message to include in the voucher email.

 

6 Click email voucher to recipient to send a copy to the recipient automatically. You can then add the recipients email to the field provided.

 

7 Click save to move to the next step, and then select create to add the customer and voucher to a new sale. To add more vouchers to the sale, repeat steps the steps above.

 

8 When you're ready, click pay to apply a payment. You will need to apply a payment for the full amount to activate the voucher.

 

9 When you are ready, click save and done to complete.
