With Timely, you have a range of options available at your fingertips to stay in touch with your clients. For all messaging types in Timely, you can choose to send either SMS (text messages) and or emails. Emails are included in your plan at no extra cost, but there are additional charges for SMS, which we will outline below.
What customer messaging options are available?
In Timely, you have a selection of customer messaging options available to you. This allows you to keep your clients in the loop with bookings, improve relationships, reduce no shows, increase sales, and boost long term retention. You can set up all of your automated customer messages (including reminders and notifications) in one place, under the customer messages section.

SMS messaging
What happens if I go over my SMS limit?
Should you go over your SMS limit because you ran a new marketing campaign, or simply had an increase in appointments this month; you will be charged an excess SMS rate per extra message you send. To check your SMS balance, head to account > SMS usage in your Timely dashboard.
The plan that you've chosen for your business will determine how many SMS messages are included each month. Should you wish to increase the number of SMS messages available to your business, you can upgrade your plan to one with a higher SMS allowance. Changing plans is easy, simply head to account > billing from your account dashboard, or see our help guide How to change your Timely plan for more information.
Email messaging
Emails are included as part of your plan cost, and are perfect for longer-form communications to your clients. You have a range of great email options available in Timely!
Timely note: all emails will be sent by the Timely system, but we will ensure to assign your email address as the " reply to" email - this means that any time a client replies to an email, it will go straight to your inbox directly. You can then continue the conversation there!
We'll do our best to make sure those emails end up in the right place, but some email systems can incorrectly mark these as junk or spam. See our help guide, How to prevent Timely emails going to spam for more information on preventing this.
